Wyndham Hotel Group has signed an agreement to open its first Ramada in Auckland.
The franchise deal will see the Ramada Suites Auckland Federal Street open in the city’s central business district later this year. Currently under construction, the NZ$12 million (US$8.7m) property will offer 42 apartment-style rooms, including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & the Pacific Rim, said the new hotel would help fill the growing demand for new accommodation in the city.
“The debut of the Ramada brand in Auckland is a vital step forward in addressing the demand for quality accommodations in the city’s business hub,” Robinson said. “The brand’s contemporary and comfortable design, quality accommodations and value-conscious offerings are sure to resonate with today’s leisure and corporate travellers.”
The Auckland property follows the recent announcement of plans for a new Ramada Suites hotel in Christchurch. Currently, Wyndham operates three properties in New Zealand, in Paihia, the Bay of Islands and Orewa.
