Air China and United Airlines have signed a new partnership that will expand their networks in the US and China.
The two airlines, which are partners in the Star Alliance, have added 22 more routes to their existing codeshare partnership, offering travellers from both countries more travel options.
Under the new agreement, Air China will place its ‘CA’ code on 12 of United’s domestic routes in the US. These connect Los Angeles with Dallas, Cleveland, Tucson, San Antonio, New York (Newark) and Seattle; San Francisco with Salt Lake City and Austin; Washington DC with Columbus and Tampa; and Houston with Tampa and Nashville.
In return, United will now be able to place its ‘UA’ code on 10 of Air China’s domestic routes, from Beijing to Mianyang, Taiyuan, Sanya, Shanghai Hongqiao, Yinchuan, Xining, Liuzhou, Haikou and Lanzhou; and from Shanghai Pudong to Yinchuan.
Following this expansion, United and Air China will codeshare together on more than 110 routes.
