Starwood Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Luxury Collection in China, with the launch of the brand’s first property in Nanjing.
The Grand Mansion, a Luxury Collection Hotel Nanjing, is located on the city’s Chanjiang Road, close to the Oriental Metropolitan Museum and Presidential Palace.
The hotel features 158 rooms and suites and is decorated with a large art collection, handcrafted textiles and chinaware. The hotel’s Travellers’ Library features a collection of 3,000 books on local history and culture, as well as local antiques and global artefacts.
Facilities at the hotel include the Xi Lounge, the Xuan Ling Ge Chinese restaurant and The Atrium all-day restaurant, plus a fitness centre, indoor heated pool and spa. For the MICE market, there is also a large ballroom and seven meeting rooms.
“The rapid growth of The Luxury Collection brand in China reflects a robust demand for high-end hospitality from an increasingly affluent market, where domestic travel continues to thrive,” said Hoyt Harper II, global brand leader for The Luxury Collection.
“We are thrilled to debut The Grand Mansion – a hotel that is at once a portal to the rich cultural heritage of Nanjing and a gateway to experience the city’s contemporary art, design and cuisine.”
The Grand Mansion becomes the seventh Luxury Collection hotel in China, following existing properties in Hangzhou, Dalian, Shanghai, Sanya and Tianjin.
