Philippine Airlines will continue its international expansion later this year, with the introduction of its first scheduled services to Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea.

Commencing on 25 October 2015, the national carrier will fly twice a week between Manila and Port Moresby. Services will depart the Philippine capital every Friday and Sunday at 0210, arriving in the Papuan capital at 0920. The return flights will then depart at 1010 on the same days, arriving back in Manila at 1320.

All services will be operated using a two-class, 156-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. The journey time is approximately five hour and 10 minutes.

“I am pleased to announce PAL’s newest destination within the Oceania region. The robust investment climate and the upsurge of business travel to and from Papua New Guinea make it ideal for PAL to open services between Manila and Port Moresby,” stated PAL’s president & chief operating officer, Jaime J. Bautista.

Port Moresby will become the third new international destination launched by PAL this year, following New York on 15 March and the Chinese city of Quanzhou on 25 April.

And the airline’s Oceania expansion will continue on 2 December 2015, with the launch of flights to Cairns and Auckland.
