Sabre earnings rise 6% in Q2

Sabre Corporation has reported rising revenues and profits for in the second quarter of 2015.
The travel technology company generated revenues of US$707.1 million for the three months ending 30 June 2015, up 9.4% year-on-year. Earnings before tax and other items (EBITDA) increased 6.1% to US$227.6m.
Revenues from the Sabre Travel Network business climbed 7.0% to US$494.5m, while the company’s Airline and Hospitality Solutions unit saw a 16.1% increase, to US$216.6m.
The quarter was marked by the completion of Sabre’s acquisition of Abacus International.
“In the second quarter we continued to perform very well financially, operationally and in delivering new product innovation, capped off with the strategic Abacus acquisition in Asia Pacific,” said Tom Klein, Sabre President and CEO. “We are well positioned as we look ahead to the coming years.”
For the first six months of 2015, Sabre’s revenues rose 8.0% to US$1.42 billion, while EBITDA jumped 10.6% to US$471.2m.
And looking forward, the company said it expects to generate full-year revenues of between US$2.95bn and US$2.98bn in 2015, and EBITDA in the range of US$930m to US$945m.
