Qatar Airways recently announced its intent to expand its network across Africa and the Indian Sub-Continent with an increase in flight frequencies to Asmara, Eritrea, and to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Effective 7 September 2015, flights from Doha to Asmara will be increased from four to five times per week, representing a 25% increase in capacity. The Doha to Dhaka flights will increase from 10 to 14 effective 9 December 2015. This will result in an increase in capacity by 40% on this popular route. The flights will be operated with an Airbus 330-300 with 30 seats in business and 275 in economy.
Qatar Airways group chief executive, HE Akbar Al Baker, said: “This expansion is in direct response to growing demand on these popular routes.”
For the Doha-Asmara route, all flights are operated with Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration with 12 seats in business class and up to 132 seats in economy.
