Air India denies injuries and fire during emergency landing

Air India has denied that passengers were hurt when one of its aircraft made an emergency landing.
The flight was carrying 153 passengers from Varanasi to New Delhi when it was forced to make an emergency landing due to leaking hydraulic fluid.
Upon landing, smoke was seen coming from the undercarriage of the aircraft, sparking reports that the aircraft had caught fire. And the Economic Times reported a “source” as saying that “four to five passengers” suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Air India has issued a statement however, denying any injuries or a fire.
“Air India flight AI405 Varanasi-Delhi had an emergency landing due to hydraulic leak. This resulted in few sparks at the nose wheel. There was no fire. All 146 passengers were evacuated safely and taken to terminal building. No passenger was injured,” the airline said.
