Secret Retreats expands in India, Nepal

Secret Retreats, the Asian travel collective, has added 10 new member resorts across the region, including a new hotel in India and its first property in Nepal.

The Nimmu House in Ladakh become the company’s seventh Indian member, joining the Secret Inns collection. The unique 30-room property features two Buddhist temples, stables with animals including yaks and goats, and a large orchard.

In Nepal, the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge, which is set in the scenic Pokhara Valley, has become the first Secret Retreats property in the country. Set in the Pokhara Valley in central Nepal, the hotel is designed as a pre- and post-trek lodge for adventure travellers. It also joins the Secret Inns collection.

Elsewhere in Asia, Mudanwan Villas becomes the group’s first property in Taiwan, and in Myanmar, Secret Retreats has now added its first two members: Inle Princess Resort, which is set on the banks of Lake Inle, and Mrauk Oo Princess Resort, on the Kaladan River.

The company has also welcomed Kenanga, in the Balinese town of Ubud, Golden Buddha Beach Resort on south Thailand’s Andaman coats, The Island Lodge in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, Nimmu House in Ladakh, India, and two Cambodian properties; Maison Polanka in Siem Reap and Les Maisons Wat Kor in Battambang.
