Farncombe Estate’s eight-bedroom Cotswolds hotel, Foxhill Manor, has been named The Sunday Times Hotel of the Year 2015.

The title comes just seven months after its launch as a privately house hotel.

Steve Bleach, editor of The Sunday Times Travel section and one of the judges, said “…Foxhill Manor is absolutely the most romantic hotel I have ever stayed in…it is worth every penny.”  He added, “…it is subtly, seductively different from any hotel I’ve stayed in before.”

Foxhill Manor opened its doors in March this year.  The grade II listed Arts and Crafts manor house was built in 1909.  Careful consideration into the interior design has ensured all that is best about the original house – the Cotswold stone, sweeping staircase, mullion windows and open log fires – has been kept, and imbued with a new spirit.

The hotel is located on the same 400-acre private estate as the boutique hotel and spa Dormy House and The Fish, the estate’s budget boutique offering, and most recent opening.

All three hotels were included in the Sunday Times “Ultimate 100 British Hotels 2015”.  Dormy House in the spa category and The Fish within the family section.
