Starwood Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to launch its Four Points brand in Singapore.
The company has signed a management agreement for the new Four Points Singapore Riverview, which is expected to open by the end of 2016. The project will be a conversion of the existing Riverview Hotel on Havelock Road, close to the Singapore River and Clarke Quay.
The hotel will now undergo a SG$25 million (US$18m) renovation to bring it into line with Four Points standards. Once reopened, the hotel will offer 476 rooms, Japanese, Chinese and international restaurants, and a riverside bar with alfresco seating. Other facilities will include a fitness centre, outdoor pool and 876m² of meeting space including a ballroom.
“The signing of Four Points Singapore Riverview underscores Starwood’s multi-brand growth strategy in the country,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s senior vice president of acquisition & development for Asia Pacific.
“It is also an example of our conversion-friendly approach and our ability to convert hotels in a short amount of time as we strive to maximise value for our partners and create compelling experiences for our guests.”
Four Points Singapore Riverview will mark the launch of a fifth Starwood brand in Singapore, following existing Sheraton, Westin, St Regis and W hotels.
There are now 45 Four Points hotels operating in the Asia Pacific region, with a further 50 in the pipeline.
