JLL, the hotel consultancy company formerly known as Jones Lang LaSalle, has announced the acquisition of Avenue9, recent start-up business providing IT consulting services for the hospitality sector.
Avenue9 is currently focused primarily on the UK market, but JLL said it believes the business has “considerable scope for international expansion”.
“IT is an increasingly vital aspect of hotel operations and a growing cost and management consideration for our clients. Avenue9 has developed innovative and highly effective technology solutions designed specifically for the hotels sector, an ideal complement to our existing asset management and advisory services, providing clients with an excellent outsourcing option,” said Mark Wynne-Smith, global CEO of JLL Hotels & Hospitality.
The Avenue9 team, which currently comprises seven people, will continue to be based in the UK and will operate under its existing name for a transitional period before adopting the JLL brand. The acquisition takes immediate effect.
