The Mark Hotel in New York City has unveiled what it claims to be “the world’s most expensive hotel penthouse suite”.
Covering 1,115m², including a 232m² roof terrace, the Grand Penthouse at The Mark becomes the largest hotel suite in the US.
Set over the top two floors of the hotel, the penthouse features five bedrooms, its own private conservatory, a library, a dining room that can cater for 24 people, two wet bars and a living room with eight-metre-high ceilings that can be transformed into a ballroom.
A private elevator takes guests to the upper level, which features a sky-lit pavilion and private rooftop terrace with views over Manhattan and Central Park.
The price for all this luxury? An eye-watering US$75,000 per night. By contrast, a night in the 780m² Royal Suite at the Burj Al Arab would set you back approximately US$15,000.
“This majestic Penthouse is the ultimate residence away from home for those who truly appreciate rarified luxury; who seek a grand space that is equally equipped to lavishly entertain as it is to provide a homely private oasis with the extraordinary amenities and services The Mark Hotel offers. It is really like a castle in the sky,” said Jacques Grange, who designed the suite.
Located on New York’s Upper East Side, The Mark has been rolling out a series of new ‘Super Suites’ in recent months, including the 215m² Mark Premier Suite, 335m² Mark Signature Suite and 486m² Mark Terrace Suite.
