Qatar Airways announced its intent to launch new services between Doha and Durban.

The four-times-weekly service to Durban further complements the airline’s existing daily flights to Cape Town and double daily flights to Johannesburg. The new service is also an expansion of the airline’s operations in South Africa.

The new route will help to meet a growing demand from passengers seeking business and leisure in Durban.

Both Doha and Durban will each host major global events in 2022. Doha will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and during the same year, Durban will host the XXII Common Wealth Games.

The Doha – Durban will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight QR1367 will depart Doha at 07:45 and arrive in Johannesburg at 15:20; while flight QR1367 will depart Johannesburg at 16:20 and arrive Durban at 17:35. Subsequently, flight QR1368 will depart Durban at 18:45 and arrive in Johannesburg at 20:00 and flight QR1368 will depart Johannesburg at 21:00, arrive Doha at 06:20 (next day)
