InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement to open the first Hotel Indigo in Phuket.
The upscale boutique brand will arrive on the Thai resort island in 2018, with the opening of the 180-room Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong.
Located at the northern end of the popular Patong beach area, the hotel will feature Thai-inspired décor and artworks, with “locally-inspired menus” at the property’s restaurants and bars.
“Phuket is one of the top resort destinations in Thailand, welcoming more than five million tourists in the first half of this year alone. We are delighted to be launching our Hotel Indigo brand in the Patong beach town… to cater to the growing number of both domestic and international visitor arrivals to the island,” said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s vice president of operations for Southeast Asia.
“We are confident our guests will welcome the arrival of the new Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong where they can truly enjoy the individuality and style of a boutique hotel with the security and consistency of an international hotel company.”
IHG now operates 18 hotels and resorts in Thailand, with 13 more in the pipeline. The country’s first Hotel Indigo opened its doors in Bangkok in 2015.
