Marriott International has launched its midscale Courtyard by Marriott hotel brand in Taiwan.

The new Courtyard by Marriott Taipei opened recently in the city’s Nangang district. Offering 465 rooms, the hotel becomes the 36th Courtyard-branded hotel in Asia Pacific, and the second Marriott hotel in Taiwan following the Taipei Marriott Hotel, which opened last year.

The new hotel covers the 7th to 30th floors of a tower above the CityLink Shopping Mall, a building which also houses a high-speed railway station, as well as metro and standard rail links.

“Nangang is the new heart of Taipei city and home to a host of technology companies,” said Henry Lee, Marriott’s chief operations officer for Greater China. “We are extremely pleased to… open our first Courtyard in this emerging hub in Taiwan.”

As well as its 465 rooms, Courtyard by Marriott Taipei features three F&B outlets, a fitness centre and a 500m² ballroom that can be divided into eight function spaces.

Courtyard is Marriott International’s largest brand, covering more than 1,000 locations in over 40 countries.
