Preparations are being held in full swing for the forthcoming Bahrain International Airshow. The event aptly titled ‘Air Transport in the 21st Century’ looks at futures challenges and opportunities for Middle East Aviation

The organising committee for the Airshow confirmed speakers for the ‘Air Transport in the 21st Century conference’ which will be held on the second day 22 January 2016.

The first session of the conference will focus on airlines and passenger experience and sees Kuwait Airways’ Philip Saunders, Qatar Airways’ Akbar Al Baker, Tamur Goudarzi-Pour from Lufthansa Middle East and Paul Byrne from Flynas panellists. The speakers will discuss major issues affecting Middle East carriers including increased competition, passenger experience, deregulation and the Open Skies agreement.

HE Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, minister of transportation and telecommunications for Kingdom of Bahrain and deputy chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for BIAS said: “We have created more networking opportunities than in any previous show, with an increased number of top-level executives. This includes two conferences during the show: the ‘Air Transport in the 21st Century Conference’ and an IATA seminar held on the third day of the show.”

BIAS is now in its fourth edition and will offer 40 chalet participants and exhibition space. Aircraft participation currently stands at over 90 aircraft including the Russian Knights, a Typhoon, the T129 ATAK helicopter for Turkish Aircraft Industries, and an F-22 for the USAF.
