SpiceJet has launched a new service that allows passengers to pay a small fee to ensure they are not affected by flight disruptions.
The new ‘Fly For Sure’ initiative guarantees SpiceJet passengers a seat on a flight within 24 hours if their original departure, if the flight they booked is cancelled or delayed more than 90 minutes, or if they missed their flight.
The service is available for INR 299 (US$4.40) and SpiceJet will reimburse the passenger for an alternate flight ticket (not exceeding double the price of the original ticket) on the airline of their choice in the same sector.
“Flight disruptions cause lots of inconvenience to passengers; hence putting customer convenience first we have introduced ‘Fly For Sure’ which enables the passenger to complete the travel without any extra financial burden,” said Amit Srivastava, SpiceJet’s vice president of business development.
The feature is currently available for domestic routes if flight tickets are purchased seven days in advance. The product is not available for group or infant bookings.
