ROBERT RIJNDERS has become Onyx Hospitality Group’s new senior vice president and area general manager for Pattaya. Rijnders started working with Onyx in the early 1980s, when the company was known as the Siam Lodge Group of Hotels. He will now oversee the company’s five existing and two new Pattaya properties.
DIPAK DEVA has been appointed managing director of the Travel Corporation India (TCI), the inbound subsidiary of the Thomas Cook India group. He brings more than 26 years of inbound travel experience to the new role, and will be responsible for overall business strategy and delivery at TCI.
CAPTAIN DINO SAGANI has been named as the master of the Majestic Princess, Princess Cruises’ new Shanghai-based ship. Formerly a member of the Italian navy who worked on a minesweeper in the first Gulf War, Captain Sagani joined the cruise line in 1995 and has commanded a variety of vessels.
JODIE KING has been named as Air New Zealand’s new chief people officer, effective 29 February. Ms King first joined Air New Zealand in 2013 and most recently led the HR operations for the airline’s Airports and Global Sales departments. Previously she spent 15 years in the UK with KPMG.
ANNE SCOTT has been appointed general manager of the St Regis Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Residences, which is expected to open in Q2. Ms Scott has spent two decades with Starwood, most recently as GM of the St Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort and The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort in Langkawi.
RINI ANGGRAINI has been promoted to the role of corporate director of revenue & distribution with Indonesia’s Tauzia Hotel Management. She has held the position of corporate revenue & distribution manager since August 2013, and the expanded role will see her oversee Tauzia’s call centre team.
SHABIR SATYA has been announced as the new general manager of the Best Western Haven Glebe hotel in Sydney. Satya joined the hotel’s owners, Everjuve, in 2014 and was appointed to lead the company’s Australian expansion. He has previously worked for Choice Hotels, Oaks Hotels & Resorts and IHG.
MARK STANFORD has been appointed general manager of the Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji, which forms part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. An Australian national, Stanford has a hospitality career spanning 25 years, including spells in Australia, Japan, the Maldives, Oman and Indonesia.
RICHARD SEMBIRING has become the hotel manager of the Pop Hotel Kemang Jakarta. Sembiring first joined Tauzia Hotel Management in 2011 as duty manager at the Harris Hotel & Residences Riverview Kuta in Bali, before becoming assistant manager at a Harris-Pop hotel in Surabaya.
ROSE HEW has been appointed director of food & beverage at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral. Ms Hew began her career in 1997 as an assistant banquet manager in the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, and later became operations manager at the Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur’s Li Yen Restaurant and Conference Centre.
