The remote Indian state of Mizoram, which is bordered by Bangladesh and Myanmar, will get its first connection to Delhi next month.
The Economic Times reports that a “private airline”, believed to be Jet Airways, will start flying from the state’s Lengpui Airport to Delhi from 27 March.
At present, Lengpui, which serves the state capital Aizawl, is only linked to Kolkata, Imphal and Guwahati. But Jet is now planning to extend its Delhi-Guwahati service to Aizawl, with a total flight duration of approximately four hours, including the stop in Guwahati in both directions.
Flights will leave Delhi at 1000 and arrive in Aizawl at 1355. They will then return from Mizoram’s capital at 1425 and arrive back in Delhi at 1840. Jet will serve the route using a 168-seat Boeing 737 aircraft.
