Best Western Hotels & Resorts has celebrated the 15th anniversary of its arrival in Asia.
2016 marks 15 years since the hotel group opened its first regional office for the Asia region, located in Bangkok. And to mark the milestone, Best Western hosted a 15th anniversary party in the Thai capital, which gathered senior executives, staff, industry partners and the media to a rooftop bar.
“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our 15th anniversary in Asia, and delighted that we could mark the occasion with a party attended by so many of our esteemed travel industry partners,” said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s managing director of international operations for Asia.
“Over the last 15 years we have welcomed millions of guests to our hotels in Asia, won many loyal customers and made a lot of friends.
“With our exciting new hotel concepts launching in the region in the coming years, including Vib and Glo, the future looks incredibly bright for Best Western in Asia, for the next 15 years and beyond,” he added.
Best Western’s history dates back to 1946 when its first hotel opened in the United States. It established its first Asian office in 2001, supporting an initial portfolio of six hotels in the region. Fifteen years later Best Western’s regional portfolio stands at 60 hotels in 13 countries.
Best Western also has a pipeline of 40 new hotels which are scheduled to open across Asia in the coming months and years. This will include the launch of its first Vib hotels in Myanmar and Laos. Vib is one of four new hotel concepts recently unveiled by Best Western, along with Glo, BW Premier Collection and Executive Residency.
