Egypt will soon witness a boom in tourist from Saudi Arabia.
The newly proposed King Salman Bridge between Egypt and the Kingdom would be the key for increased Saudi tourists traveling to the country. An estimated amount would be around 500%, as per a report in Arab News.
This is according to an Egyptian tourist consultant on the Kingdom and Gulf states, Ahmad Ismael, said there has already been a rise in number of Saudi citizens heading to Egypt. A total of 433,000 Saudis visited Egypt in 2015, a 14% increase from 2014.
A campaign has been launched with the hashtag, #thisisegypt# to attract Arab travellers from the Middle East for summer and Ramadan. Ismael said he was happy with the rise in the number of tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Plans to further boost these figures include easing of visa requirements for expatriates living in the Middle East for at least six months, he was quoted.
