Ras Al Khaimah hosts corporate golf event

The UAE World Corporate Golf Championship recently teed-off for the first time at Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Hamra Golf Club.
The emirate hosted several high profile golf tournaments over the past year, reinforcing its position as a leading golfing destination in the Gulf region.
Jeff Glasgow and Jim Muirhead took first place at the 18-hole tournament with a score of 62 combined stableford points, securing a spot at the World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final in Cascais, Portugal from 21-26 June 2016.
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority sponsored the event. The tournament witnessed attendance from 25 teams which included contenders from Fine & Country, AGMC, BMW and Harradine Golf.
Haitham Mattar, CEO, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “Ras Al Khaimah is cementing its position as a major player in golf tourism. Our facilities at the likes of Al Hamra Golf Club, attract visitors from across the globe. The UAE World Corporate Golf Challenge has seen high levels of golf expertise and we look forward to hosting future events such as the European Challenge Tour, later this year.”
The UAE team will be competing against Angola, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, England, Finland, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Macau, Mauritius, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela and Wales, at the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC).
