In a recent development, Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB).
The MoU aims to utilize the airline’s global network to further boost inbound tourist arrivals to Jordan, focused on growth of key tourist destinations in the country.
Under the MoU, the airline together with the tourism board will put into effect a range of joint marketing activities, including tourism promotions, participation in conferences and exhibitions, amongst other initiatives. The MoU was signed by Thierry Antinori, Emirates executive vice president and chief commercial officer and Yazan Al Khudairi, director of the Jordan Tourism Board and the Jordanian tourism attaché in the UAE.
Dr Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, managing director of the Jordan Tourism Board said: “Tapping into Emirates’ extensive global network will give the Jordan Tourism Board access to markets in regions that hold great potential for our unique tourism proposition. Through this MoU, our aim is to jointly put in place best strategies and practices to increase Jordan’s marketing footprint and position it as a preferred destination in markets like Australia, and the growing economies of Central and Southern America, amongst other target markets that would have otherwise had no direct link to Jordan.”
In terms of connectivity, Emirates offers three daily nonstop flights from Amman to Dubai.
