Qantas will commence construction on its new international lounge at Brisbane Airport in the coming weeks.
The new Qantas International Premium Lounge will follow the same design as the airline’s lounges in Hong Kong and Singapore, with a single facility replacing its existing first and business class lounges.
Scheduled to open in October 2016, the new Brisbane lounge will feature menus created by Qantas’ chef Neil Perry, a bar and coffee area.
“The new Brisbane International Premium Lounge highlights our continued investment in the entire customer journey. The new lounges will offer an outstanding experience in premium design, service, and food and wine,” said Qantas’ head of customer product & service development, Philip Capps.
In addition to the new international lounge, Qantas will revamp its lounges at Brisbane’s domestic terminal in coming months. A new lounge precinct will be developed, featuring a business lounge and Qantas Club which will open in phases from early 2017.
Qantas has been ramping up its operations from Brisbane recently, with the launch of new direct flights to Tokyo and additional seasonal services to Auckland. It also connects the Queensland city with Wellington, Christchurch, Los Angeles, Singapore and Hong Kong.
