Maritim Hotels, the German chain that currently operates in eight countries, has added two more hotels in China.
The company has signed new properties in the cities of Hangzhou and Hefei, increasing its total Chinese portfolio to five hotels following the existing Maritim hotels in Shenyang, Changzhou and Wuhu.
The two latest hotels will both be new-builds. The Maritim Hotel Hangzhou will include 300 rooms and suites, three restaurants, conference facilities, a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, while the Maritim Hotel Hefei will have 335 keys, two restaurants, a German bar, meeting rooms and boardrooms, conference facilities, and health centre.
“We are pleased to be able to further develop the Maritim brand in China as we prepare to open two new hotels in the country in 2017,” said the company’s director of international sales, Mark Spivey.
“The Chinese market is hugely important to Maritim Hotels. As one of the world’s largest economies and a renowned international business destination, expansion in China is an integral part of the company’s strategy, bringing our ‘meetings and accommodation under one roof’ philosophy to more major cities in this vast country.
“China is the third biggest source market for Maritim Hotels, particularly since the recent relaxation on rules regarding visas,” he added.
Both new properties are scheduled to open next year, with the Hefei hotel expected to launch in July 2017 and the Hangzhou hotel in December 2017.
