Interactive Antarctic attraction opens in Australia

A new attraction has opened in Australia that showcases Antarctica’s wildlife.
Located on Phillip Island, off the coast of Victoria, Antarctic Journey offers a “multimedia wildlife experience” that it claims is “as close as one can get to Antarctica without actually setting foot on the frozen continent”.
Using giant interactive screens, visitors can see themselves standing on an ice floe, petting a penguin or stroking a seal.
The attraction features three levels; the first is dedicated to the island’s penguin colony, while the second includes an ‘Antarctic Chill Zone’ where guests can experience life as an Antarctic researcher, complete with microscopes and specimens. The final level, known as ‘The Chamber’, features a multimedia experience where visitors will find themselves surrounded by whales, seals and sharks.
Developed in partnership with the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), Antarctic Journey becomes the latest wildlife attraction on Phillip Island, joining its existing Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm and Wild Oceans EcoBoat tours.
