Marriott International has expanded its midscale Courtyard brand in China with the launch of a new hotel in Shanghai.
Located in Fengxian district of southern Shanghai, close to the Bihai Sands Waterpark, the new Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Fengxian marks the rebranding of an existing property that has been operating since 2001.
It becomes Marriott International’s first franchised hotel in China.
“We are an established hotel in the local market. As a result of the… Courtyard by Marriott brand and the rapid development of Fengxian district, our hotel will welcome a broader audience of local, regional and international travellers,” said Yu Xiangzheng, the hotel’s general manager.
The property offers 259 rooms, ranging from 36-150m², plus a restaurant serving Chinese and international cuisine, a lobby lounge, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, 24-hour health centre and a spa with eight treatment rooms and a sauna. There is also more than 824m² of meeting space covering 11 function rooms.
Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Fengxian becomes the midscale brand’s fifth property in the city.
