Taiwan’s EVA Air has unveiled a series of new offerings for its premium passengers.

International passengers flying in Royal Laurel, Premium Laurel and Business classes on EVA flights will now have improved check-in and boarding experiences and a new range of in-flight services.

Prior to travel, EVA will provide new electronic maps at its premium check-in counters, directing travellers to airport lounges and departure gates. During busy periods, EVA will deploy extra staff to assist passengers along the way.

Upon boarding, passengers on long-haul flights will be offered a glass of pineapple juice and chocolates, and during the flight, a “sommelier-style” wine service will be introduced, allowing passengers to taste different wines before making their choice. The airline will also offer canapés.

Those travelling on long-haul Boeing 777-300ER flights can now request a full turn-down service, which will see the cabin crew turn the Royal Laurel Class seat into a flat bed, complete with a cotton mattress pad.

The launch of the new services follows EVA being awarded a five-star rating by Skytrax, making it only the eighth airline in the world to achieve the top ranking.
