Pan Pacific Hotels Group will make its debut in China’s capital city in the first half of 2017 with the opening of Pan Pacific Beijing.

Located in the central Xicheng district of the city, the new hotel will offer access to the majority of city centre landmarks, including Financial Street, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

It will feature 223 rooms and suites with a minimum size of 45m², plus a 14th floor club lounge. There will also be international, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, an indoor pool with retractable roof, a dedicated wellness floor with spa and fitness centre, and a large ballroom.

“We have been eagerly waiting for the right opportunity to bring the Pan Pacific brand to Beijing and we are delighted to have found it with this luxury development. As our flagship hotel in China, Pan Pacific Beijing will set the benchmark for planned expansion into other key first-tier cities,” said Bernold O. Schroeder, CEO of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

“I believe we are well-positioned to attract affluent travellers by leveraging the Pan Pacific brand’s strong footprint in Asia Pacific as well as our existing presence in China through our five other properties. The hotel will also benefit from its strategic location in the financial district given Beijing’s standing as a regional financial hub.”

China is Pan Pacific’s largest market outside its Singapore home. Besides Pan Pacific Beijing, the group operates five other properties nationwide: Pan Pacific Suzhou, Pan Pacific Tianjin, Pan Pacific Xiamen, Pan Pacific Ningbo, and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo.

Beijing becomes the second new Asian capital city location for the Pan Pacific brand announced in recent months, following Hanoi. Last month the company revealed that it will rebrand the existing Sofitel Plaza Hanoi as a Pan Pacific in October this year.
