The number of Indians travelling to Bali has surged in the first half of the year.
According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), reported by the Antara news agency, a total of 92,731 Indian nationals visited Bali in the January-June 2016 period, up 55.8% compared to the same period last year.
This rate of growth was the highest among the Indonesian island’s 10 largest visitor source markets.
Overall, international arrivals to Bali reached 2.27 million in the first half of 2016, up 18.6% year-on-year. Indian visitors accounted for 4.1% of this total.
The Bali Provincial Tourism Office has set a target of attracting 4.2m international visitors this year, compared to 4.0m in 2015.
