Wyndham Hotel Group has unveiled plans to open a huge new hotel in Danang, Central Vietnam.

Located in the coastal city’s Son Tra district, the 779-room Wyndham Soleil Danang will be set in a 57-storey hotel tower. At 199 metres high it will become the tallest building in Danang, and will form part of a major four-tower complex that will also feature 3,200 apartments, conference facilities, a retail and dining precinct and parks.

The US$446 million project is currently under construction and expected to open in September 2018. It will be managed by Wyndham Hotel Asia Pacific.

Located just 100 metres from My Khe Beach, Wyndham Soleil Danang will become only the brand’s second property in Vietnam following the Wyndham Legend Halong Bay, which launched in July this year.

It will feature a “coral-inspired façade” and a mix of apartment-style rooms ranging from studios to one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Facilities will include a restaurant and bar, swimming pools, a gym, spa and health centre.

“With airport improvements underway, as well as its proximity to scenic beaches and UNESCO World Heritage sites, Danang is a market poised for great growth within a country popular with world travellers,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim.

“Vietnam… attracted more than 5.5 million visitors so far this year – an increase of more than 20 per cent over last year. We will continue to focus efforts to develop our Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand in emerging destinations throughout the country.”

Wyndham Hotel Group is currently accelerating its Southeast Asian expansion efforts, and will also open its first upscale property in Bali next month.
