Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed a management agreement for Radisson Hangzhou Qianjiang – the upscale brand’s first property in the city.

Owned by Zhejiang Wanxiang Real Estate, this new-build hotel will form part of the Bodi Centre, a major new complex also featuring 7,000m² of office and 5,000m² of retail space. The development has already achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) gold certification, due to its sustainable construction processes.

Once open in 2019, Radisson Hangzhou Qianjiang will offer 185 rooms, three restaurants, a bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and more than 1,500m² of function space. It will be located 20km from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.

“China’s dynamic landscape has proven to be an essential growth market for Carlson Rezidor with its wealth of development opportunities. We are delighted to be working with Zhejiang Wanxiang Real Estate… as we expand our footprint into a tier one destination that attracts discerning business and leisure travellers,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president for Asia Pacific.

“We remain committed to the market as we strengthen our presence in the region.”

Carlson Rezidor now has 13 hotels in six Chinese cities, and is targeting growth in the country’s second and third tier cities in future.
