Starwood is introducing two more of its brands to Singapore, following the signing of a pair of high-end heritage hotels.

The Duxton Club (pictured top) in Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar district will mark the launch of Starwood’s Luxury Collection in the city, while the stylish Hotel Vagabond in Jalan Besar will become Singapore’s first Tribute Portfolio property. Both are owned by Garcha Hotels.

“We are thrilled to be bringing the Luxury Collection and Tribute Portfolio brands to Singapore,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s senior vice president of acquisitions & development for Asia Pacific. “We are confident that these two distinct brands will make their mark on the country’s highly competitive hospitality market.”

The Duxton Club will be set in two pre-war colonial heritage buildings within walking distance of each other. Originally constructed in the early 19th Century, The Duxton House features 50 rooms in eight adjoining three-storey buildings, plus a restaurant, bar and a cigar room.

Just 200 metres away, The Duxton Terrace is set in 14 adjoining three- and four-storey colonial-era buildings dating back to 1929. This part of the hotel will feature 138 rooms, five F&B outlets, a swimming pool and fitness centre.

The Duxton House will open in early 2017 while The Duxton Terrace is expected to launch next July.
Hotel Vagabond meanwhile, is a 41-room boutique property designed in an opulent Parisian style. Having opened in January 2016, it will now be rebranded as a Tribute Portfolio hotel in October.

The Duxton Club will join a portfolio of 100 hotels and resorts under the Luxury Collection brand, 25 of which are in Asia Pacific. The Tribute Portfolio was conceived in 2015 and now features nine global properties including two in Asia.

Starwood currently operates seven hotels in Singapore under its Sheraton, Le Meridien, Westin, St Regis, Four Points and W Hotels brands, plus two more under its partnership with Design Hotels.
