Swiss-Belhotel International will open its first Australian hotel next month.
The Asian hotel group, which has a strong presence in Indonesia, will make its debut Down Under with the launch of the new-build Swiss-Belhotel Brisbane. Located close to the Brisbane Convention & Entertainment Centre, the hotel will offer 134 rooms with marble desks, galley kitchens and LED lighting. Many of the rooms overlook the Brisbane River.
Hotel facilities include a large corporate lounge designed for early arrivals and late departures, plus two meeting rooms, an indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium and a restaurant, Café 63 at Swiss-Belhotel.
Swiss-Belhotel’s chairman & president, Gavin Faull, said the hotel would also benefit from its position close to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital precinct and other local facilities.
“We have a unique location with three large and famous children’s hospitals nearby which will bring in a special medical and family market,” said Faull.
“We are very close to the Gabba – the international sports ground where Swiss-Belhotel will be well placed to capitalise on many of the international sporting fixtures at that ground. We are also close to the Brisbane CBD… and Swiss-Belhotel Brisbane will be the ideal business hotel for the CBD market.”
The hotel is on track to open 15 October 2016. It will become the company’s second property in Australasia, following the Swiss-Belresort Coronet Peak, which lies in the ski fields of New Zealand’s South Island.
