Wyndham Hotel Group has relaunched its midscale Ramada brand in Japan with the opening of a new hotel in Niigata.
The 300-room Ramada Hotel Niigata, which was formerly known as the Niigata Tokyu REI hotel, is located just three minutes’ walk from the city’s train station. Following a renovation, the property now includes five F&B outlets, six meeting rooms, free Wi-Fi and an on-site laundry.
“Ramada’s return to Japan strengthens our foothold in Asia and further our global agenda to transform travel by making it more accessible for the masses,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.
“Modern Japanese travellers today are seeking full-service hotels to suit their evolving lifestyle needs and Ramada Hotel Niigata is well poised to meet their demands.
“The presence and strength of an international brand such as Ramada will boost Niigata’s tourism appeal and attract more domestic and international guests into the city,” Robinson added.
The relaunch of Ramada in Japan coincides with a major brand push into South Korea, where 17 new Ramadas are on track to open by 2018.
