Indonesia’s Tauzia Hotel Management has launched a new boutique brand with the opening of a property in the Sanur area of Bali.

The new Maison Aurelia becomes the first hotel under the new Préférence label, which the company says will focus on “upscale boutique hotels”. This debut hotel features 54 rooms ranging from 36-54m², plus free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and access to a beach club.

The hotel’s restaurant, Spice Gastrobar, becomes the second edition of a chain operated by Chris Salans, founder of the Mozaic Gastronomique restaurant in Ubud. This outlet uses locally-sourced ingredients, including native Indonesian roots, herbs and spices that are said to have medicinal properties.

Following the launch of Maison Aurelia, Tauzia is planning to open more Préférence hotels in Lombok, Jakarta and Bandung. These will add to its existing Pop, Harris and Yello brands located across Indonesia.
