Shanghai is now home to three Le Meridien hotels, following the opening of the upscale brand’s latest property in the city.
Located in the Minhang district, close to the Hongqiao airport and high-speed rail terminal, Le Meridien Shanghai Minhang features 240 rooms and suites, a large social lobby area, several F&B outlets including Chinese and Spanish tapas restaurants, and more than 2,500m² of function space.
It also has a fitness centre, indoor swimming pool, spa, and a kids’ club featuring indoor activity centres.
“As the third Le Meridien destination in Shanghai, this hotel is illustrative of the brand’s robust growth in China over the past several years, hitting its stride with guests and locals as well as owners and developers in the region,” said Brian Povinelli, Le Meridien’s global brand leader.
The new hotel joins the existing Le Royal Meridien Shanghai and Le Meridien She Shan Shanghai. The brand’s fourth location in the city, Le Meridien Shanghai Jiading, is expected to open in 2018. There are now more than 15 Le Meridien hotels operating across China, with multiple more projects in the pipeline.
Le Meridien Shanghai Minhang also becomes Marriott International’s 34th property in Shanghai.
