Travellers will soon be able to fly direct between India and Vietnam.
Air India and Vietjet have signed new agreement that will see the two carriers cooperate in a range of areas, including the launch of non-stop flights initially between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City. Other areas covered by the partnership include sales, distribution, tourism and trade promotions, personnel exchanges and training.
The deal was signed in Delhi by Vietjet’s vice president, Dinh Viet Phuong, and Air India’s commercial director, Pankaj Srivastava.
“We hope that Air India’s aviation experience and capabilities will help Vietjet in our better access to India – a potential market with a young and dynamic population,” said Dinh Viet Phuong. “The cooperation is also expected to contribute positively to a higher development of partnership in economy, trade and tourism between Vietnam and India.”
The launch date and other details of the new direct flights have not been revealed.
