Visitors to the Chinese port city of Qingdao now have three Sheraton hotels to choose from, following the opening the upscale brand’s latest property.
Located within the Qingdao Economic & Technological Development Zone, the new Sheraton Huangdao Hotel joins the existing Sheraton Qingdao Jiaozhou and Sheraton Qingdao Licang hotels in the city.
The new property features 350 rooms and suites, most of which have sea views, plus an indoor pool, spa, Chinese and international restaurants and 2,500m² of function space, including a ballroom.
“Qingdao is one of the fastest growing urban centres in China and as we expand our footprint in the city with our third property, we are committed to ensuring that the Sheraton hospitability and services make it easy for more travellers to accomplish their business goals,” said Wolfgang Boettcher, Marriott’s vice president of operations for North China.
“The Sheraton brand has grown from strength to strength in China, and the opening of Sheraton Huangdao Hotel reinforces our commitment to advance the brand in the market.”
Marriott now operates eight hotels in Qingdao, all of which are under Starwood’s former brands. These include three Sheratons, two Le Meridiens, two Four Points hotels and one Westin.
