Thai airlines welcome brand new jets

Two Thai airlines have received belated Christmas presents from Airbus, with the arrival of brand new aircraft in the first week of January.
Last week, Bangkok Airways took delivery of its ninth A320 aircraft, while Thai AirAsia welcomed its second new A320neo.
The new Bangkok Airways jet comes equipped with 162 economy class seats, while budget airline Thai AirAsia manages to squeeze 186 seats into its similar-sized aircraft.
Bangkok Airways now operates a fleet of 35 aircraft, including 14 ATR turboprops, 12 A319s and nine A320s. Thai AirAsia meanwhile, has a total of 51 aircraft – 49 A320s and two A320neos.
