2017 marks the first time Voyages to Antiquity has offered dedicated no-fly cruising from the UK.
Ideal for those keen to avoid airport queues and travel without luggage restrictions, the new programme has been designed with stress-free holidays in mind.
The maiden voyage from the UK will depart London (Tilbury) on 29 June, as the 15-day Iceland and Shetlands cruise takes in the natural highlights of four scenically diverse countries on a round trip towards the Arctic Circle.
With 10 excursions included along the way, the itinerary incorporates visits to Rosyth (Scotland), Kirkwall (Orkney Islands), Heimaey, Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Husavik (Iceland), Torshavn (Faroe Islands) and Lerwick (Shetland Islands) before returning to London.
Leading glaciologist Professor David Drewry will be one of the expert speakers joining the first no-fly cruise. Through his insightful lectures guests will understand the environmental factors that helped create the dramatic geological features native to ‘the land of fire and ice’, from fjords and geysers to lava fields and some of the world’s most active volcanoes.
