Cruise and Maritime Voyages is offering the chance to sail directly from the UK City of Culture 2017 on an adventure cruise to explore the Arctic.

Marco Polo sails from Hull to Iceland & the Northern Isles for 12 nights 17 June or to Arctic Greenland, Iceland & Faroes on a 21-night voyage 11 July.
Hull was announced as the winner of the UK City of Culture 2017 in 2013, it is only the second city to hold the title and the first in England. The award is given every 4 years to a city that demonstrates the belief in the transformational power of culture.
The arts and cultural programme for the year celebrates the unique character of the city, its people, history and geography. Artists and residents of Hull will come together throughout 2017 to make Hull a cultural destination for must-see events.
2017 also means a new season of cruises departing from Hull for Cruise & Maritime Voyages. In June & July the Marco Polo will be using Hull as her regional base as she travels across Europe, giving the residents of Hull and surrounding areas the change to experience CMV’s No-fly traditional cruises.
Marco Polo will be giving passengers the chance to visit the breath-taking Fjords of Norway, the ‘Land of Fire & Ice’ – Iceland, Baltic Capitals and St. Petersburg as well as arctic Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
Iceland has one of the world’s most dynamic landscapes and highlights of the Iceland & the Northern Isles cruise include geysers, glaciers, lava flows and volcanic craters, bubbling mud pools, stunning waterfalls and geothermal hot springs. Marco Polo will call at Tørshavn, Eskifjördur, Husavik and Lerwick as the cruise circumnavigates the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’. Plus, the remote Faroe Islands, Shetland and Invergordon are fascinating stepping-stones on what promises to be an arctic adventure, 12-night cruise sailing 17 June.
In July Marco Polo will sail to Iceland and call at 7 different ports of call in Greenland, the world’s largest island, allowing passengers to fully explore the stunning landscape of icebergs and dramatic mountains before travelling back to the UK via Iceland. The Arctic Greenland, Iceland and Faroes cruise sails from Hull 11 July for 21-nights. There is also the possibility to extend this cruise sailing to Norway and remote Spitzbergen to 35 nights.
