Qantas passengers travelling overseas from Brisbane Airport now have a new lounge in which to relax before their flight.
The new Brisbane International Lounge is based on the new design recently introduced to Hong Kong and Singapore. Split across two levels and offering 30% more space than the previous lounge, the new facility features hot and cold buffets, a breakfast area, bar, business centre, Wi-Fi, TVs and showers.
Qantas International’s CEO, Gareth Evans, said the lounge was the first of several new facilities the airline would open at Brisbane Airport in the coming months, as part of a multi-million dollar upgrade.
“This lounge marks our continued investment in the entire customer journey. We’ve almost finished the refurbishment of our A330 fleet at the Brisbane Maintenance Facility, added new services to Japan and New Zealand, and the domestic terminal lounges are set for a complete redesign in coming months,” Evans said.
Following the unveiling of the international lounge, Qantas will open a new domestic lounge area, including a new Business Lounge and revamped Qantas Club.
The airline currently operates 57 direct weekly international flights from Brisbane to Auckland, Christchurch, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Noumea, Port Moresby, Singapore and Tokyo.
