Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) plan to introduce fresh milk on board their ships Columbus and Magellan. A spokesman for the leading UK cruise operator said ‘We are responding to our passengers who like their cups of tea with fresh milk”.
Plans are for four specially trained cows to be placed on board each ship in ideal conditions, complete with lush grass, supervised by two milkmaids.
CMV said “We are awaiting confirmation from The Dairy Council that all is well before proceeding. Acceptance should be with us by Saturday 1st April. The cows will also be an added attraction on our multi-generational cruises, when we have children on board. CMV plan two multi-generational cruises in 2017 and a further eight in 2018.”
