Marriott International has launched its midscale Four Points by Sheraton brand in Japan, with the opening of a new hotel on the northern island of Hokkaido.
The Four Points by Sheraton Hakodate is located within walking distance of the city’s railway station, 20 minutes’ drive from Hakodate Airport and close to Hakodate Port. It is also close to Onuma Quasi National Park and Yunokawa hot springs.
“Four Points by Sheraton is one of Marriott International’s most rapidly expanding brands globally and we are excited to… bring the brand to Japan,” said Mike Fulkerson, Marriott’s vice president of brand & marketing for Asia Pacific.
“With over 50 hotels in key destinations across Asia, Four Points by Sheraton appeals to smart, independent travellers seeking honest, uncomplicated comfort.”
The new hotel features 199 rooms, all with free Wi-Fi and city views from the upper floors. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, a “relaxation room” for spa treatments and more than 1,200m² of conferencing and banqueting space.
A former Starwood brand, Four Points now has more than 120 hotels either operating or under development across Asia Pacific. As well as the Hakodate hotel, the brand is also planning to open at Nagoya’s Chubu International Airport in 2020.
