Majestic Princess, the newest ship in the Princess Cruises fleet, has made its maiden call to Singapore.

The 3,560-passenger cruise liner docked at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre on 18 June 2017, marking the completion of a 28-day voyage which started in Rome on 21 May.

More than 3,000 passengers disembarked the ship in Singapore, while another new batch of more than 3,000 guests boarded the vessel to start a 21-day voyage to Shanghai, making eight stops along the way in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea.

Some passengers have opted to sail the entire ‘Silk Road Sea Route’ cruise – a 49-day journey from Rome to Shanghai, comprising 22 stops.

“We are thrilled for Majestic Princess to call at Singapore. The ship is fully booked with guests from across the world such as USA, UK, Australia and some are closer to home from Malaysia and Singapore. We are delighted these guests have shown great enthusiasm in wanting to sail on our new ship to try out her exciting new features which deliver an exceptional cruise experience,” said Farriek Tawfik, Princess Cruises’ director of Southeast Asia.

Stretching 330 metres in length and with 19 decks, Majestic Princess is the third vessel in Princess Cruises’ Royal class of ships – the newest and largest class in the cruise line’s fleet, which also includes the Regal Princess and Royal Princess. Like its sister ships, Majestic Princess features “The SeaWalk”, glass walkway that extends out over the side of the vessel, almost 40 metres above the waves.

Majestic Princess’ visit marks the end of the 2016-17 cruise season at Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
