Bali continues to experience a sharp increase in international visitor numbers.
According to the latest data from the Antara news agency, Indonesia’s “Island of the Gods” welcomed a total of 2.3 million overseas arrivals in the first five months of 2017, up 24% compared to the same period last year.
The island remains behind its ambitious targets however; for the full-year 2017, Bali is targeting 5.5m visitors, which would mark a year-on-year increase of 30%. So arrivals will need to pick up in the remainder of the year to achieve this target.
For the month of May alone, Bali welcomed a total of 489,376 international visitors, up 25% year-on-year.
