Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives has welcomed the arrival of a new batch of baby turtles, which recently hatched on its shores. The mother Green Turtle had come ashore in the early hours of 15 March to lay more than 100 eggs. Staff, acting on the advice of a local conservation centre, had covered the eggs with netting to protect them against predators. On the afternoon of 7 May, 102 baby turtles hatched and headed towards the ocean.
