KUAH BOON KIAM has been appointed as the new President of Great Wall Airlines, effective 1 October. Just 38 years-old, Kuah has previously held senior positions with Singapore Airlines Cargo, most recently being the carrier’s Regional Vice President for West Asia and Africa.
KIERON RITCHARD has been appointed to IHG’s newly-created role of Vice President, Operations for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific. Ritchard was most recently IHG’s Vice President, Strategy for Greater China, but the Australian national has now returned home to head-up the group’s regional expansion plans.
KIATTISAK YAMASAMIT has been announced as the new E-Business Manager for the Langham Place Eco Resort + Spa. Thai national Kiattisak joins the Krabi resort following a stint as Assistant to Managing Director of Hotellinkz.com. He was also previously worked for Siam City Hotels and Resorts.
AJAY BHARTI has been promoted to the role of Vice President of the WelcomHeritage Noor-Us-Sabah Palace in Bhopal. Bharti previous held the position of General Manager at the property.
MARTINA GROENEGRES has been appointed as Lufthansa’s new General Manager for Beijing and Chief Representative for China. Groenegres has been with Lufthansa since 1996, and previous held the title of General Manager for the German airline’s Customer Services and Support Centre in Shanghai.
MIRIAM HAMMOND has been announced as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for MGM MIRAGE Operations. Hammond most recently served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for MGM Grand Las Vegas and The Signature at MGM Grand.
GEOFF RHODES has been appointed as Etihad Airways’ new Manager for Russia. The airline starts flights to Moscow on 1 December and Rhodes will be responsible for managing Etihad’s commercial operations across the Russian market. Rhodes has been with Etihad since 2006 when he was responsible for setting up the airline’s commercial operations in the Philippines and Indonesia.
