Centara occupancy outpaces Thailand hotel sector

Thailand’s Centara Hotels & Resorts was able to maintain an occupancy rate of 70% in the first quarter of 2009, despite the ongoing political instability, The Nation has reported. The reported figure far outpaces Thailand’s national average occupancy for the quarter, stated in the report as 53.5%.
Gerd K Steeb, President of Centara, said that despite the continuing uncertain outlook, that the chain would expand its portfolio of at least 24 properties by year-end.
